Bombarralense

Bombarralense has no derby of its own. It is the only football club in its municipality, so the rivalries on its fixture list are with neighbours from the district: Pataiense, Oleiros and Beneditense. The nearest thing to a grudge is the one between the club and the rest of the Leiria Football Association (AF Leiria), which it helped to found.

The club was set up on 5 October 1911 by members of the Centro Escolar Republicano João Chagas, and from the start it had two purposes, football and cycling. The second has been the more productive. Sérgio Paulinho, Cândido Barbosa and Nuno Ribeiro all began in the cycling section. The football side has produced no player of comparable name.

Its best season in the national pyramid was 1946/47, when it played in the second tier. It has since settled into the regional leagues and now plays in the Divisão de Honra AF Leiria, the fifth level. There it has won the Campeonato de Honra four times, the last in 2009/10. The 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons were the richest: the Taça AF Leiria in the first, the Supertaça António Vieira Ascenso in both, and the league title in the second.

The Estádio Municipal do Bombarral is the club's home, and the municipality supports it. The council renewed its funding protocol in 2025, under president Jorge Filipe Silva.

The Taça de Portugal is where the club meets opponents it would never otherwise play. On 23 November 1986 SL Benfica came to Bombarral in the third round and won 0-3. In 2026/27 the draw sent FC Vizela there in the second round. Across its history the club has entered the competition about 30 times.
