Bregalnica Štip

The story goes back to a single football, brought into Štip and kicked around until there were enough players for a proper side, and the club that grew out of it took the name of the river running through the town, the Bregalnica. The year was 1921.

The name did not survive untouched. In 1928 the authorities forced a change to Obilić, and it took a merger with several of the town's other clubs in 1932 to bring Bregalnica back — it has carried the name ever since. The club folded once more in 2008 and was refounded within the same year as Bregalnica 2008 AD Štip, keeping the line back to 1921 unbroken.

Home games are played at the Gradski Stadion in Štip, in front of up to 8,000, and the blue shirts have earned the side its nickname, The Blues.

Most of the silverware dates from the old Yugoslav league system — four Republic League titles for Macedonia, the last of them in 1983-84, plus a national cup in 1980-81. Since independence the club has spent most of its time in the lower divisions, picking up the second-tier title four times along the way, most recently in 2025-26.
