FK Rabotnicki

Rabotnički go into the 2025/26 season in the Second League, after finishing 11th in the Macedonian First League and dropping down a tier. The club is also playing this campaign with its own ground reduced to 21,418 seats while reconstruction work continues at the National Arena Toše Proeski, a stadium it shares with cross-town rival Vardar.

The club traces back to 4 October 1937 in Skopje, its activity halted during the Second World War and resumed after the city's liberation in 1945. It carried the name Železničari — the railwaymen — through the Yugoslav era, when it won the Socialist Republic of Macedonia championship ten times, the last of them in 1979/80. When Macedonia became independent, Rabotnički stood among the founders of the new First League in 1991.

The years that followed brought little of note until businessman Trifun Kostovski took the club under his wing and, with backing from the Kometal company, the side played under the name Rabotnički Kometal from 2000 to 2008. Those seasons produced four league titles and four national cups, with the double completed twice, in 2007/08 and again in 2013/14. Once the sponsorship ended, the club reverted to its original name.

The European campaigns from that period left the clearest mark: a Europa League group-stage appearance in 2007/08 and a run to the qualifying play-offs in 2010/11 under coach Zoran Stratev. Among the players who passed through the academy, Eljif Elmas made 44 appearances and scored seven goals before moving on to Napoli and the national team.

Matches against Vardar, first played in 1951, remain the fixture that defines the club's calendar in Skopje.
