Young Boys have twice lost to Buochs in the Swiss Cup, both times by a single goal. The quarter-final finished 0-5 against FC St. Gallen.
Seven seasons later the club did the same to FC Luzern, 2-1 in extra time.
The league in question is 1. Liga Classic, group 2, and the players are amateurs. Home matches are at Stadion Seefeld. The shirts are blue and white, taken from the coat of arms of the village itself — Buochs is a commune in the canton of Nidwalden, and the club, with roughly 670 members, is the largest sporting organisation in the canton.
None of it began as a football project. When it was founded on 1 July 1934, the plan covered athletics as well, and that is why the name on the paperwork reads Sportclub Buochs rather than Fussballclub.
