Capelle

Two amateur sides from Sprang-Capelle, HNC and Wit-Zwart, had each been relegated from the higher tiers of their district and were struggling to carry on alone when their boards agreed that pooling what remained of both squads was the only way forward. The merger went through on 26 February 1986 under the slogan "1+1=3", and the new club inherited a lineage stretching back further than either name suggested: HNC had started out in 1948 as Nooit-Gedacht'48, while Wit-Zwart, founded in 1938, traced its own roots to Excelsior Capelle, a club formed in 1919 that had once fought for a place in the KNVB's third class.

SV Capelle plays at Mandemakers Sportpark in Sprang-Capelle, not to be confused with the similarly named Mandemakers Stadion a few kilometres away, home to the professional club RKC Waalwijk. Capelle carries no official nickname. Its colours are white and black, and the motto on its website, "Met Plezier, Samen Beter Worden", promises simply to get better together while enjoying it.

Promotion has come in short bursts rather than a steady climb. The club topped North Brabant's first class in 1987/88 and moved up into the KNVB's fourth class for the first time. It took until 2001/02 to go a level higher, won that year through the promotion play-offs, and Capelle later returned to the second class by finishing top of the third in 2010/11. That progress unwound in 2022/23, when relegation from the third class sent the club back down, and it has spent the 2024/25 season in the KNVB's fourth class, Zuid I group.
