The promotion final of June 2021 never produced a winner. The match was abandoned after crowd trouble and aggression towards the referee. No official result was declared, and the route into Tercera RFEF closed there.
That season had already been the best in sixteen years: 56 points and first place in Group I of Regional Preferente, the club's first group title in the category since 2004/05.
Under Pablo Hernández, Castellón B finished top of Group VI of Tercera RFEF in 2024/25 — 18 wins, 4 draws, 58 points — and went up automatically to Segunda RFEF. It was the first promotion to the fourth tier in the reserve side's history.
Home is the Instalaciones Deportivas Gaetà Huguet, on Campo B. The Nou Estadi Castàlia, where the first team plays in front of 15,500, is not used by the reserves.
The first season in Segunda Federación, 2025/26, was spent closer to the bottom than the top. Castellón B went into the play-out and survived it.
