Chirundu Utd

In August 2024 Chirundu United left Chirundu. The town sits on the Zambezi, where Zambia meets Zimbabwe, and the club took its nickname, The Border Boys, from that crossing. The ground there did not meet the requirements of National Division One, so the club relocated to Lusaka and settled at the Edwin Imboela Stadium, which holds 6,000.

The move came in the same year as their first real run in the ABSA Cup. They beat Katete Rangers 3-0 to reach the last 16, then lost by the same score to FC MUZA. In 2026 they went further. They knocked out Kabwe Warriors and then Zanaco to reach the semi-finals, and they won promotion to the Super League that year.

The club has no trophies, and the yellow-and-black hoops have not been to many finals. The striker Philimon Chilimina, though, finished as top scorer in the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Men's National League, and that counts for a good deal in a side that has been in the capital for so short a time.

Their sharpest rivalry is with Makeni All Stars. The two sides came up against each other with the title at stake, and that is what gives the fixture its edge.
