KV Diksmuide-Oostende open this season in Belgium's Second Division, a level they reached only last spring by winning the Third Division promotion play-off. The name on the shirts is barely two years old: when KV Oostende went bankrupt in 2024, SV Diksmuide took on the collapsed club's stamnummer 1972 and moved from Diksmuide to Ostend, and the merged side spent its first season winning the First Provincial West Flanders title before going up again.

Home games are now played at Batimont Solar Park in Ostend, a ground that has already gone by three other names — Albertparkstadion, Versluys Arena, Diaz Arena — and holds 8,432, split between 5,432 seats and standing room for the rest. The team plays in yellow and blue, and its friendlies against KV Kortrijk are the closest thing it has to a settled rivalry.

Before Ostend, there was only Diksmuide, the West Flanders town where the club was founded in 1933 and spent decades working through the provincial divisions — Third Provincial A in 2017, Second Provincial A in 2020 — long before Second Division football was ever a possibility.
