Maykop lives around the two rivers and the mountains behind it, and for decades the city's attention has gone to the Adygea Republican Stadium "Druzhba," where the football club of the same name has played since 1963. It ran under the name Urozhay before 1968, the year it topped the South zone of Class B in the Soviet championship — a result it followed almost immediately by winning the RSFSR championship in 1969.
Two second-place finishes in the Soviet second division, in 1971 and 1986, sit either side of that arc without changing its shape.
The club's record books point to two names rather than a roster. Alexei Filippov played 438 second-division matches for Druzhba, while Andrei Popov scored 88 goals.
Alexander Kaivanov has led the team since the start of 2026. Druzhba is playing this season in the Second League's Division B and in the Russian Cup, where on 12 August it drew 0-0 with Angusht and went through on penalties.
