That climb had been quick. What plays today as Neftyanik traces itself to amateur sides that once won the Dagestan championship under the name Izberbash.
That season, midfielder Said Kerimov top-scored with 15 goals. For 2026, the club earned its licence for the Second League B, the fourth tier of Russian football, and appointed Renat Miftakhov, who arrives with experience from Baltika-M and Akron-2 in the lower professional pyramid, as head coach.
With that work still under way, Neftyanik has instead been playing its home fixtures at the Trud stadium in Makhachkala, a short drive up the coast from Izberbash itself.
