Estarreja

Estarreja play their football in the Aveiro district competitions, where the club won the Taça da AF Aveiro in 2023–24 — a fourth win in that cup.

The club took its name and its nickname from the same geography: the Antuã, the river through the municipality, gave the Tubarões do Antuã theirs. It was founded on 11 November 1944, and the AF Aveiro second division in 1956 and again in 1961.

The high point came in 2003, when Estarreja won the III Divisão. The season around it produced the club's best-known afternoon in the Taça de Portugal: on 24 November 2002 they went to the Estádio José Alvalade for the round of 32 and lost 4–1 to Sporting CP. The Estádio Doutor Tavares da Silva, where they play at home, holds 2,000.

Between 2010 and 2012 the club took three district cups in succession, adding the Campeonato de Elite and the Supertaça in 2011–12. Magno, a forward, was there through most of that period and won all of it, having already played for Portugal at under-16 and under-17 level.

The name that carries furthest, though, belongs to David Carmo. He came through the Estarreja academy before Benfica took him, and later Braga; in 2018 he won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with Portugal. The orange and blue stripes were where he started.
