União Lamas

The 2023–24 season ended with three trophies on the same shelf. União Lamas took the Aveiro district championship, then the Taça de Aveiro, then beat Florgrade FC in the Supertaça, and the run carried them up into the Campeonato de Portugal. The district title had last come in 1963.

The club grew out of the parish of Santa Maria de Lamas, in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira. That is where the nickname comes from — Os Corticeiros, the corkmen — and the ties to the Amorim cork business run through the ground itself, the Estádio Comendador Henrique Amorim, which now holds 9,000.

Before all that there were two spells that mattered more nationally. Titles in the Third Division in 1963–64 and 1968–69 took the club up, and a third in 2005–06 did the same. Five seasons were spent in the Liga de Honra, the second tier; sixth place in 1996–97 remains the high-water mark. The rest of the club's ninety-odd years since its founding in 1932 have been spent in the regional game, in red and black, with white kept for away days.

The fixture the parish waits for is São João Ver — the Derby de Santa Maria da Feira. Feirense are in the same municipality too, and are the bigger professional name, but that is a different kind of afternoon.
