The Mittelrhein-Pokal has become the trophy for the women of Fortuna Köln. Ten wins, and the run since 2019 has continued: Alemannia Aachen beaten twice, in 2020 and again in 2024. In 2026 they reached the final once more, against Viktoria Köln.
That cup is not only silverware. Fortuna did exactly that in 2023/24. The run carried them to the last 16 — further than the team had ever been.
The women's side dates from 2003, formed within SC Fortuna Köln e.V. and still run on amateur terms. Its league is the Regionalliga West, the fourth level of the German women's game; before that came the Mittelrheinliga, where four titles — the last in 2021/22 — stand as the record.
League football is played on the artificial pitch at the Jean-Löring-Sportpark, which holds 1,000.
There was also the Equality Cup in 2023, taken 4:1 against SV Blau-Weiß Aasee.
