Gmunden

The best-remembered cup run in Gmunden's history came in 1982–83, when the club, then playing in the Landesliga Oberösterreich, met Bundesliga side SK Austria Klagenfurt in the Austrian Cup and won 2–1, with Robert Kain and Jürgen Silmbroth scoring.

SV Gmunden grew out of Gmundner Fußball-Klub, founded on 8 July 1921, and was re-established under its present name in 1945; a separate club, Arbeiter Turn und Sport Verein Gmunden, ran in the town from 1947 to 1989 before folding. The club marked its hundredth anniversary in 2021. The Upper Austrian Cup had already been won in 1981, and titles have followed lower down the pyramid since: the OÖ Liga in 2006–07 and the Landesliga West in 2023–24.

Matches against SV Bad Ischl are known locally as the Salzkammergut-Derby; games with SC Schwanenstadt and ASKÖ Vorchdorf carry a similar regional edge. Gmunden play in blue and white, a change from the black and green the club wore at its founding, at the LSP Arena, which holds 1,700.
