UFC Hallein

The Thomas-Stangassinger-Sportanlage holds up to 1,330 spectators, though smaller figures — 330 in some listings — likely count only the seats in the stands rather than the ground as a whole. It belonged to FC Hallein before that club and neighbours Union Hallein merged in 2020, and the new club kept it as home while taking Union Hallein's league place and registration number instead.

The merger began in the winter break of the 2019/20 season, when FC Hallein 04 withdrew from its championship. It was completed the following summer, and UFC Hallein was formally registered on 4 June 2020. Both predecessors already carried merger history of their own: FC Hallein 04 had been formed in April 2004 out of SK Olympia Hallein and 1. Halleiner SK. The new shirt combined red from FC Hallein 04, green from Union Hallein, and white as neutral ground between them.

Under the FC Erdal Hallein 04 name, the club had already won the 2. Landesliga Nord in 2006/07 and the Salzburg regional cup twice, in 2005/06 and 2007/08. The merged club needed until 2021/22 to match that pace, finishing runner-up in the Salzburger Liga and earning promotion to Regionalliga Nord, then repeating the second-place finish in 2023/24.

Werner Lorant, known in German football for his time at TSV 1860 München, took charge of the club twice — in 2016/17, when he pulled it clear of relegation trouble, and again in 2018/19. Sporting director David König has kept up that habit of reaching for recognisable names: since August 2025, Uwe Wolf, who played for 1. FC Nürnberg, 1860 München, Dynamo Dresden and Mexican champions Necaxa, has run the club's youth coaching alongside the U16 and U17 sides, while Christoph Lessacher has held the first-team job since July 2023.

Regionalliga Nord, the third tier, is still as high as UFC Hallein has reached, and the Salzburger Liga title that has twice slipped to second place has not yet come.
