Górnik Zabrze II

The reserve side has never had a separate birth certificate. It took the field in the 1948/49 season, the same year the parent club was formed, entered then into the Opole Class B, and has run in parallel with the senior team ever since without collecting a league title or a cup along the way.

What gives its matches an edge is geography rather than history. Games against Polonia Bytom are treated as local derbies, sharpened further by fixtures with Górnik Wałbrzych, styled the Górnicze derby, and by the recurring meetings with Silesian neighbours such as Odra Wodzisław Śląski.

The team's real function shows up in transfer sheets more than in tables. Dominik Sarapata made his senior debut in February 2025 after coming through this level, following the same road once walked, further back, by Arkadiusz Milik on his way into the Górnik Zabrze first team. Jakub Jeleń and Valentine Nweke have followed a similar path more recently.
