Grama

The club had only existed since 2 July 2013. It was built in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the dense working-class town pressed against Barcelona's northern edge, and it took its short name from the place: Grama, after Gramenet. That the climb happened in a town of that kind, in a footballing region where the two big names take everything, is the part worth holding on to.

The 2017/18 season brought a second piece of silverware that did not quite come off — runners-up in the Catalan amateur championship alongside the Primera Catalana title. Two years later, back in the Primera Catalana, Grama finished second again. The upward line eventually carried them into the Tercera Federación, the fourth tier of Spanish football, which is where a club founded barely a decade ago now sits among sides with far longer memories.

Home is the Nou Municipal de Gramenet, 5,000 capacity, blue the colour of the first-choice shirt. It is a municipal ground in a town of tower blocks, and on the days when the promotions were decided it was full.
