Hortaleza

The pitch on Calle de Monóvar holds 400 people and is laid with artificial turf, put down in 2010. It sits inside a municipal sports complex in the Hortaleza district of Madrid, and it is where Sporting Hortaleza have played for years, in sky blue shirts, dark blue shorts and socks, with white as the away colour.

The club began in 1964 as Sporting Unión Centro Sindical Hortaleza, started by four friends: Fernando Rojas, Fernando Ríos, Pedro Torralba and Manuel Ramón Gómez. It became an Agrupación Deportiva in the late 1970s. It should not be confused with CD Hortaleza, a separate side that existed only from 2002 to 2011. Sporting is the one club in the district that carries the Hortaleza name through its whole history.

Its work with young players is what people in the neighbourhood know it for. It is Atlético de Madrid's official convening club, and over the last decade more than a dozen of its players have moved on to the academies of Real Madrid and Atlético. The juvenile side reached the Copa del Rey Juvenil in 2025–26.

The senior team had its own season that year. It won the Copa RFFM de Aficionados, beating Atlético Valdeiglesias 3–1 in the final. That result earned a place in the 2026–27 Copa del Rey.

The local derby is against CD Canillas, founded in 1961, three years before Sporting. Luis Aragonés, later known as «El Sabio de Hortaleza», was born in the district in 1938. He never played for the club.

The stadium holds 400. The cup final ended 3–1.
