Irao

Temur Bekauri arrived at the back line in 2024. The run started with a 4-0 win over FC Merani Martvili in the round of 32, carried the club to the quarter-finals, and ended there against Dinamo Batumi, who won 1-4. A year earlier the cup exit had come sooner, in the round of 32.

The insurance company IRAO, which backs the club and gives it its name, was set up in 2004.

The listed home ground, Grigol Jomartidze Stadium on Abashidze Street, holds 2,000, but Irao have not settled there in recent seasons. Certification problems have sent them instead to Tsentraluri Stadioni in Kaspi, some way outside the capital, and to the 500-seat Stadion Spaeri in Tbilisi.

None of this has translated into silverware. Irao have no league title or cup to show for their time in Erovnuli Liga 3, and their league finishes read as solidly mid-table: 39 points from 30 matches in 2022, 50 from 30 the following year. The current task is the one every third-tier side in Georgia faces each August: get through the group stage of the Kipiani Cup again.
