The man on the touchline at Geneva's Italian club is listed simply as M. Antonilli, and the job he holds is one that has existed at Club Sportivo Italien Genf since 1944 — playing in blue and white.

The club is better known by its short forms, FC Italien or CS Italien, and its football is played several tiers below the Super League. In 2012/13 the draw brought Italien against FC Schaffhausen, a full-time second-tier side. Italien scored; Schaffhausen scored five, and the tie ended 1:5.

Geneva has a crowded football map, and a club founded by immigrants in 1944 has spent eight decades as one name among many on it. Italien has no league title to its name and no ground that draws visitors for its own sake. It has a website, csitaliengenevefc.ch, a set of colours it has not changed, and the same Cup entry every autumn.

Antonilli's brief is the ordinary one at this level: keep the senior side competitive in its regional division, and get through enough qualifying to reach the stage where the draw can produce a name like Schaffhausen again.
