«The Boro»
Janesboro came out of the 2023–24 season as winners of the Premier A Division.
They have been here before. Between 2015 and 2019 they took the Limerick & District League Premier Division in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019, missing out only in 2016. The last of those seasons was the fullest. In 2019 they added the Oscar Traynor Trophy and beat Newmarket Celtic in the final of the Munster League Champions Trophy. In 2017 they reached the semi-finals of the FAI Junior Cup. The club has also qualified for the FAI Cup proper, where the draw sent them against Sligo Rovers.
Closer to home the measuring stick is Pike Rovers, the neighbours they meet in the area's fiercest derby. Nobody has settled on a name for the fixture, but nobody in Janesboro needs one.
The club dates from 1943 and plays at Pearse Stadium on Colbert Avenue. The kit is black from collar to boot, supplied by Jako Ireland, and the supporters' hashtag is "Uptheboro".
Cup football has come in longer waves than the league.
