Joker

When Raasiku FC Joker meet Anija JK, local reporters have occasionally reached for the word "derby" — Raasiku and Anija are neighbouring parishes — though no name for it has ever really stuck.

The club exists because of one man's nickname. Raivo Vaga, known locally as "Joker," set the team up in 1993 and became its first coach and manager.

Joker began in the second-tier II liiga in the 1993/94 season and spent years in the lower divisions before a group of players, back from military service, revived the club in 2011 under Jaan Jalas, who later became its chairman. By 2015 the team had climbed into Esiliiga B, the second tier proper. Relegation followed, and by 2022 Joker were down in III liiga, where they still play.

In 2018 the club reached the final of the Väike Karikas, the second-tier cup, and lost 0:2 to Saue JK; in the 2010/11 Eesti Karikas it went as far as the quarter-finals.

Andre Ilves put in 25 goals in 2008 and 17 the year after, then later came back as head coach of the side he once top-scored for. Rando Randjõe, born in Raasiku itself, led the line twice over, with 19 goals in 2011 and 21 in 2018.
