Fourth-tier football in the canton of Bern rarely travels far, and Kaufdorf's men play their Saturdays in the 4. Liga under the Bern-Jura association.
The football section came out of a meeting at the Gutenbrünnen restaurant on 3 June 1976, where 14 people agreed to add a team to a sports club that had been running since 17 January 1975. Group wins followed in 1978, 1982, 1984 and 1988, and in 1984 the side beat FC Köniz in the play-off for promotion to the 3. Liga. It took until 2016 for Kaufdorf to win that play-off again.
What the club has become better known for lately has nothing to do with the table. In the 2023/24 season Kaufdorf finished first in the FVBJ for the SUVA Fair Play Trophy, ahead of more than 200 clubs, and third across Switzerland out of more than 1,300.
The junior side of the club had its own week that year: between 26 and 29 May 2023 the FF15 girls' team won the Berner Cup.
Liga remains the ceiling.
