The climb took time. Promotion to the 3. Liga came in 1959, and it was another 38 years before the first team reached the 2. Liga for the first time, in 1997. That level brought the club its first taste of the Swiss Cup: a first-round exit in 1998–99, beaten 1:3. Later there were two seasons in the interregional 2. Liga from 2009.
One of the club's more durable inventions has nothing to do with results. The 100er-Club , set up in 1978, exists to fund the youth section.
The busiest recent season belonged partly to the reserves. Kerzers II won the 4. Liga cup in 2026, beating FC Broc I 3:1 in front of 452 spectators. The first team collected the Suva Fairplay Trophy for its conduct across 2025–26.
That award carried an unusual reward. Liga side meets once in a generation. Sion won the first round 1:6.
