Lahte United

Lähte United play in Rahvaliiga A, the amateur tier that sits at the base of Estonian football, and take part in the Eesti Karikas alongside the country's part-time and village sides. There is no title in the cabinet and nothing close to one — this is football measured in whether the group keeps showing up, not in what it collects.

The club's own website marks its birth in 2023, though the association standing behind it, MTÜ Lähte United, was only entered into Estonia's business register in April 2024 — the paperwork catching up a year after the team had already taken the field. Lähte itself is a village in Tartu Parish, some 15 kilometres outside the city, and small enough that the team does not play at home in any literal sense: its matches are hosted in Tartu, on the artificial surface at Tartu Coop staadion on Sepa Street, a ground that holds 504.

Red and black are the colours the players take out. On the fixture list, Tabasalu Ulasabat CF, a club from Harju County at the other end of the country, keeps reappearing — an odd pairing on the map, but by now a familiar one on the calendar. No academy graduate or long-serving name has yet attached itself to the club; for now, Lähte United is still the team itself, not any one player in it.
