Levoča
Club · Slovakia · Cup
Levoča is a small town in eastern Slovakia, tucked beneath the slopes of Marján hill, its old centre built around a market square that drew visitors long before anyone there organised a football match. The game follows a smaller rhythm than the town's own history: FK 05 Levoča carries the year of its founding in its own name, formed in 2005 after the previous club, TJ Slovan Levoča, closed down.
The new side never claimed any lineage stretching back to older Levoča clubs. It started fresh and has stayed in the lower tiers of Slovak football since, moving between the III. liga Východ, the V. liga and the 4. liga rather than pushing toward the top flight. No championship or cup sits in its record yet.
Home matches are played at the Futbalový štadión Levoča, set under the same hill that shapes the town's skyline. The clearest name to come out of the club belongs to Marek Janečka, born in Levoča in 1983 and raised in its youth ranks before he left to play for Ružomberok, wore the captain's armband at Spartak Trnava, and turned out for ViOn Zlaté Moravce, Karviná and Germany's Hansa Rostock. In 2025 he came back to FK 05 Levoča, pulling the shirt on again for matches in the Slovnaft Cup. No settled rivalry marks the club's fixtures — sides such as Sokol Brezovica, Šarišské Dravce and Slovan Kendice turn up in the cup draw and the league table without any lasting edge attached.
The ground under Marján hill holds 1,500.
