Lokomotiv Orsha

Lokomotiv was set up on 2 May 2018 by presidential decree, built on the roster of the Minsk junior side Yunior and sent out to represent the town in the Belarusian Extraliga. It won the second-tier Extraliga B in its very first season, only to find the promotion spot handed to Mogilev instead, because the rules demanded a farm team Lokomotiv did not have. The club stayed down a year longer, finished second, and only reached the top flight when the Extraliga was unified from the 2021/22 season.

Since then Lokomotiv has settled into the middle of the table, eighth in 2024/25 among them, without a run at either the Extraliga title or the Belarusian Cup. Home games are played in blue, orange and white in front of up to 3,500 people at the Ice Palace, and the fiercest fixture on the calendar is against Vitebsk, a meeting known locally as the Northern Derby.

Behind the first team, the club runs a youth school with more than 300 children training across hockey, short track and weightlifting. On the bench, Igor Zhilinsky took charge as head coach with a playing and coaching record that includes time in the KHL.
