Lunds Bk Women
Club · Sweden · Svenska Cupen - Women
Lund is a university town, and its football has long been shared between two names. Lunds BK — Lunds Bollklubb in full — is the older of the pair, and the women's side carries that name into the regional divisions and the qualifying rounds of the Svenska Cupen, where a cup draw is the one fixture that can put a lower-division club in front of opposition it would otherwise never meet. The table goes out of the window in those games.
Home is Klostergårdens IP, on the southern edge of the city. The listed capacity is 3,650, but only 500 of those are seats in the stand; the rest is standing and grass bank, which is why the ground can look full long before the number is reached. It is the sort of venue where a cup tie changes the atmosphere more than the attendance figure suggests.
The women's team has no separate website of its own. Fixtures, results and squad news go out through the club's main site, alongside everything else Lunds BK runs — a small thing, but it says something about how the club is organised: one name, one channel, the women's football treated as part of the whole rather than a branch off it.
There is no Damallsvenskan title to point to, and no cup won. What the yellow and white shirts have instead is continuity — seasons in the regional leagues, the occasional cup run, and a place in a town that has kept the club going since 1919, when a group in Lund put a name to a football side and began playing under it.
