The trophies in the cabinet at San Martino di Lupari were not won on grass. The futsal side reached fourth place in the UEFA futsal club competition in 2009-10 — as far as it went in Europe — and stopped existing in 2018.

Jesús Velasco, the Spanish coach, brought the first of those titles in 2006. Much of what followed rested on Brazilians who stayed: Humberto Honorio spent nine years at the club, from 2006 to 2015. Edgar Bertoni, a Brazilian midfielder naturalised as Italian, won the European title with Italy in 2003 and collected championships here.

Stefano Zarattini has run both arms of the club as sole administrator and president, and the successes above belong to his tenure.

The football section carries no national honours and plays in Serie D, the fourth tier. Its ground, the Stadio Comunale Gianni Casée, holds a thousand. Matteo Nichele captains the side.

That structure — Luparense FC as it exists now — dates only from 21 June 2015, when the football section was rebuilt. The line runs back to 1933, to a village team in red and blue that took its name from the place, and the wolves from the name.
