The Stade de Luxembourg, seating 9,443, hosts the side when fixtures call for it, though the team has no ground of its own and moves between venues in the city as availability allows.

The Red Lions, as they are known locally, trace their first recorded match to April 10, 1954, a 0-0 draw with Belgium at the FIFA Youth Tournament Under-18 in West Germany. Since then the age group has stayed in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Under-19 Championship without reaching the finals, playing friendlies and qualifiers against sides such as the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Ukraine and Denmark at the same level.

What the team has produced instead is players. Vincent Thill came through the under-19 ranks before making his senior debut at 16, still the youngest to play for Luxembourg, and Gerson Rodrigues followed the same route on his way to becoming the country's all-time leading scorer, with 23 goals for the senior side. Mario Mutsch coached the under-19s from July 2022 to June 2025, before stepping up to take charge of the under-21s.
