Marino

The most recent trophy on the shelf is the Copa Heliodoro Rodríguez López, the Canary Islands Cup, won in 2024–25 by beating CD Tenerife C 2–0. It was Marino's third, after 1979–80 and 2011–12. In 2025 the club's youth side also earned promotion to the national juvenil category.

Marino began in 1933 as Marino Fútbol Club, formed by fishermen from Los Cristianos. That is where Los Marineros comes from, and the fan group, the Marea Azul, keeps the sea in its name. The club was registered as Club Deportivo Marino in 1947 and is the second-oldest on Tenerife. The ground, Estadio Antonio Domínguez Alfonso, is in Playa de las Américas, and holds 7,500.

Most of the club's history has been spent in the Tercera División and the Regional Preferente. The 1987–88 Tercera title was followed by spells in Segunda División B, the third tier, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The 2011–12 season was the most complete. Marino took the Tercera, the Copa Heliodoro and the Trofeo Teide pre-season tournament in the same year. The 2019–20 Tercera title then earned a place in the 2020–21 Copa del Rey, where they reached the first round, still their best run in that competition.

Local rivalry runs through UD Ibarra of neighbouring Las Galletas, and the meetings are known as the Arona derby. CD I'Gara, CD Buzanada and CD San Lorenzo are the other nearby sides.

Players have moved on from here. The Colombian international John Fredy Valencia left Marino for Deportivo Pasto in Colombia's top flight.
