Markhor IT Solutions

The side, sometimes referred to more fully as Zia-ul-Haq Markhor Information Technology Solutions, took its name from the markhor, the animal Pakistan claims as its national symbol, though the team itself is distinct from a separate franchise of the same name that plays in the Pentangular tournaments.

There was no long apprenticeship. In its first campaign the side reached the President's Trophy Grade-II final, where Sahir Associates beat them to the title. Markhor IT Solutions had built an 82-run lead on first innings and were awarded the Grade-II Gold title on that basis, with promotion to Grade-I attached. Maaz Khan , a wicket-keeper batsman who has also played for the Pakistan national side, featured in the squad that carried the club into that higher grade.

None of it happens at a single ground. As a departmental team in the Pakistan Cricket Board's structure, Markhor IT Solutions travels to whichever neutral venue the fixture list assigns — Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar.
