Öckerö Women
Club · Sweden · Svenska Cupen - Women
Öckerö Women are back in Division 2 this season, having won Division 3 in 2023 to earn a return to the second tier for the 2024 campaign. The cup form has held up too: a 5-2 win over Onsala BK took them through the first round of this year's Svenska Cupen.
The team plays under Öckerö IF, a multi-sport club founded in 1935 in the town of Öckerö, on the northern edge of the Gothenburg archipelago; the organisation marked its 90th anniversary in October 2025. Home matches are played at Prästängen, where an artificial pitch measuring 105 by 65 metres sits alongside the club's grass fields.
Damallsvenskan, the Swedish top flight, has stayed out of reach, and Division 2 remains the highest level the women's side has played at. It got there first in 2018, in its debut season in the division, and finished second in the Nordvästra Götaland group — a result the club itself described as a surprise.
Evelina Egenwall came through the side between 2016 and 2019 before moving on to Göteborgs DFF and then BK Häcken B. At Prästängen itself, the name still spoken of most is Johanna Englund Nilsson, known there as a local legend.
