The upper tier at Inter&Co Stadium stays closed for most Orlando City SC nights, which is how a ground listed at 24,453 for the men's team becomes a 25,500-seat venue when the Pride play. The two clubs share the building, share purple, and share an address — the women's team's website is a subsection of the men's.

The Pride were established on 20 October 2015 and took the field in the NWSL the following spring. For most of the first decade the club's high point was a play-off trip in 2017 that ended 4–1 at the hands of Portland Thorns.

Then came 2024. Orlando went through 24 regular-season matches without losing one, and on 6 October the NWSL Shield was theirs. Barbra Banda was named the league's most valuable player that year, and Seb Hines was voted coach of the year. On 23 November the Pride beat Washington Spirit 1–0 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City to add the NWSL Championship .

Washington were waiting again in 2025, this time in the NWSL Challenge Cup final, and the Pride lost it on penalties, 4–2. The team reached the play-off semi-finals that year and went no further.
