Păușești

Two hundred people fit around the pitch at the Stadionul Comunal Pietrari, and in the commune of Păușești-Măglași that is enough. The ground sits in Vâlcea county, a short way from the villages whose names the club carries: Păușești and Otăsău, joined in the title FC Păușești-Otăsău the way the parishes are joined on the map.

For most of its recorded existence the club has moved between the fourth and fifth tiers of the Romanian league. It played Liga IV Vâlcea in 2016–17, finished eleventh there in 2017–18 and dropped to Liga V, then came back up for 2019–20. That eleventh place remains the highest finish anyone can point to on paper, which says less about ambition than about the size of the pool the side draws from.

Then the direction changed. In 2025–26 Păușești-Otăsău are in Liga III, Series VI — a division above anything in the club's own record, reached by a commune side with a 200-capacity ground and no national or county title to its name.

The bench brought an unexpected name in October 2024. Sorin Bucuroaia, who played for Dinamo București, Gloria Bistrița and Zimbru Chișinău, and who had worked in Saudi Arabia and with Dinamo's youth teams, took charge here. In December 2025 the club named Mihai Lungan as head coach.

Cup football has its own rules, and the club enters the Cupa României too; in December 2020 it met Viitorul Dăești.

The pitch at Pietrari is where all of this is settled — a communal ground in a Vâlcea village, hosting third-tier football for a crowd that would fill a small hall.
