Phoenix

In the 2023/24 season, Phoenix won the National Super League, Trinidad and Tobago's second tier, and for the first time in their history reached the Pro League — a step up the club had been chasing since 1976, the year it was founded on the island of Tobago.

The team plays out of Bon Accord, close to the Tobago capital of Scarborough, at the Canaan Ground, formally the Canaan and Bon Accord Recreational Ground. Red is the shirt colour, trimmed in black and white.

Before that promotion, the club's clearest mark on the record books was a Tobago FA Cup won on penalties in 2002, beating St. Clair's Coaching School. EverybodyWiki also credits Phoenix with an early stop in the career of Dwight Yorke.

Nigel de Sousa took Phoenix up and guided them through it, finishing sixth in the Pro League; James Baird followed in 2024/25, with the team settling into ninth.

Tobago produces few island derbies of national note, but Phoenix's meetings with Eagles FC, the island's other senior club, carry that weight locally, alongside fixtures against Stokely Vale that the local press has also labelled a Tobago derby.
