Räppe's players had one job when the draw for this season's Svenska Cupen sent them up against Sjöstaden DFF: get through the first qualifying round. They lost 2-4, and that was the end of the cup for another year.

Cup football is the exception rather than the rule for this side. Most of the season is spent in Division 2, Södra Götaland, the fourth tier of the Swedish women's game, where a run of league results matters more than a single knockout tie ever could. Home matches are played at Räppevallen in Växjö, rebuilt as a new ground in 2022.

The wider club, Räppe GoIF, was founded in 1930; the women's section has grown up inside that structure without a separate date attached to it in the club's own history. Black and yellow has stayed the shirt colour throughout, the same combination the team wore against Sjöstaden.

With the cup done, Division 2 is what is left to play for, and Räppe turn back to the league table to see where the rest of the season can take them.
