Värnamo Women

Twice a season the fixture in Värnamo involves Jönköpings Södra IF, the neighbouring club up the road. Rappe GoIF fills out the local list of clubs nobody wants to lose to.

IFK Värnamo Dam plays under the same crest, the white and blue, and the same "Kamraterna" name as the men's side that gave the club its identity in 1912, though in match reports the women are usually just "Damerna". Home games are at Finnvedsvallen, opened in 1935 and holding 5,000, shared with the rest of the club.

Julia Weidenmark has captained the side since 2009, a homegrown defender who has outlasted most of what has come and gone around her. The club has also been a place players pass through on their way up: Filippa Collryd, voted the team's best player in 2023, left for Halmstads BK; Marieke Kramer, a Dutch defender, moved on to IFK Göteborg in the Damallsvenskan that same year. In 2024, Nigerian forward Onyinyechukwu Okoli scored a hat-trick against Älmhults IF, and Tova Ahlström was named the club's player of the year in 2025. In last season's cup, Värnamo beat Trelleborgs FF 2-0 in the group stage.

What the team has not done is win anything at national level. It sits in Division 1, the third tier of Swedish women's football, and the Damallsvenskan — where Kramer and others ended up — remains a division IFK Värnamo Dam has yet to reach.
