Eskilsminne Women

Three times the women of Eskilsminne have played their way into the group stage of the Swedish Cup — 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2021/22 — and three times that is where the run stopped. No knockout tie, no quarter-final. For a side operating in the third tier, reaching the same door and finding it shut on three separate occasions is a notable achievement.

The women's section has no founding date of its own that anyone has bothered to record. What exists is the parent club, Eskilsminne IF, formed on 18 May 1928 in Helsingborg as a multi-sport association, and a starting point for the footballers: 2015, the first season in Division 1 Södra. They were still there in 2020.

The one trophy sits at regional level. In 2019 the side won DM Skåne, the Skåne county championship — the same year they returned to the cup group stage.

Harlyckans IP, on Harlyckegatan, is shared with the men. It holds 3,500 in total, though only 278 of those are actual seats; the rest of the ground is terracing and standing room. The shirts are yellow and blue stripes, blue shorts, yellow socks — the colours the club is known by.

The fixture that matters is against IS Halmia. The club's own site and the local press call it the derby without further explanation, which is the point.

Around Helsingborg, Eskilsminne is known chiefly as a place players come through on the way to somewhere else. Promotion out of the third division has not yet come.
