Four regional titles sit behind the club, and the one that mattered came in 2005, when Renate took the Eccellenza Lombardia.
The starting point was a village side founded in 1947 as Unione Sportiva Renatese. It folded in 1951 after a relegation, and the team reformed as Unione Sportiva San Giovanni Bosco.
Renate no longer plays in Renate. Serie C ground criteria pushed the club out of the Stadio Mario Riboldi and into the Stadio Città di Meda, a 2,500-capacity ground in a neighbouring town. The blue and black remain, and so does the second nickname, the Panthers.
Francesco Acerbi came through the youth setup here before he became an Italy defender. In 2014–15 Inter sent Andrea Mira on loan for a season that also carried Renate to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia Lega Pro.
