The confusion comes up often enough that it is worth clearing away first: the reserve side at the Bosuil is not RSCA Futures.

What it does is narrower than a first team's job. It plays in the lower amateur tiers — the First Amateur Division, and before that the Belgian Second Amateur Division — and the point of those matches is not the table. It is minutes for players the senior side is deciding about.

The 2022/23 season shows how quickly that can move. Arthur Vermeeren made 6 appearances and scored once, and from there went to Atlético Madrid and into the Belgium squad. Two team-mates from the same season left in different directions: Zeno Van Den Bosch to Union Berlin, Jules-Anthony Vilsaint to Toronto in MLS.

Home matches are played on Bosuilstadion Terrein 3, the third pitch of the Bosuil complex, which holds 1,000. Some fixtures have been staged at the Herman Vanderpoorten Stadium in Lier instead. The shirts are red and white, and the badge is the senior club's badge; the reserves were never given one of their own.

Nor were they given a founding date that anybody wrote down. The year that survives is 1880, when Royal Antwerp FC itself was formed in the city — the club whose youngest players now fill out the team sheet on Terrein 3.
