Saint-Laurent

In the 2024 Canadian Championship, Saint-Laurent drew the Canadian Premier League side HFX Wanderers in the preliminary round and won. No semi-professional team from Quebec had beaten a professional club in the tournament before. The reward was a quarter-final against Toronto FC, and the club moved the tie out of its own ground to the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard, which holds about 13,000. Toronto won that night. The preliminary-round result still stands as a first for Quebec.

The senior side was not there by accident, and it did not arrive quickly. The club began in 1982 as a youth organisation in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal, and for four decades its work was with children. The club counts 13 provincial championships since 1986. Two of its former youth players, Ismaël Koné, now at Sassuolo, and Moïse Bombito, now at Nice, went on to play for the Canadian national team. A men's team entered the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec (now Ligue1 Québec) only in 2022.

The league title came in 2023, and again in 2025. The Coupe Ligue1 Québec came in 2023 and 2024.

Supporters know them as "Saint-Lau" or "STL". They wear navy blue at home and burnt orange away. League matches are played at the Stade Cégep Vanier, on the Vanier College campus, in a ground of 1,500. The Toronto tie needed a bigger stadium than the college could offer.
