Linköping is a university city, and in the Ryd district the students have their own club. AC Studenterna was formed on 26 October 1989 and took the field the following year, run under the university's academic sports association and registered under the name Linköpings Universitet Akademiska Idrottsförening Fotbollsklubb.
The club still calls itself Linköping's best and most fun football club. It plays out of Ryd Solhaga on Björnkärrsgatan, a ground with natural grass and part of a running track around it, holding 1,000 spectators.
At the time of that draw, AC Studenterna were fourth in their division.
No cup or league title has followed the club through its history so far.
