SV Frauental

Sportplatz Frauental sits on Badstraße in the town it's named for.

That changed slowly, in steps: promotion to the Unterliga in 1993, then the Oberliga in 2002. The bigger jump came in 2017/18, when the club won the Oberliga Mitte/West with a 19-point margin over FC Gratkorn, under coach Željko Vuković — a former Austrian international who had played for Grazer AK and FC Kärnten. That title sent SV Frauental into the Landesliga Steiermark for the first time in its history. Vuković moved on the following season, replaced by Ewald Klampfer, and the club settled into its new level, finishing sixth in 2021/22, still its best league placing.

The same season brought the Steirer-Cup, won with a 2:0 final victory over SV Klöch. It was enough to send Frauental into the Austrian Cup for the first time, where SV Allerheiligen ended the run at 0:5 in the opening round. A year later the club dropped back to the Oberliga, finishing second from bottom in 2022/23 and staying up only because USV Mettersdorf withdrew.

There is no rival with a name attached to it, no derby anyone has bothered to christen — just the regular fixtures against sides like FC Gleisdorf 09 and Deutschlandsberger SC. The club plays in red and blue, carries no nickname beyond its own initials, and traces back to 1957.
