Tenerife II

Every meeting with UD Las Palmas carries the weight of the Canary Islands Derby. The reserve side inherits it with the shirt: white, with blue shorts.

CD Tenerife Atlético began in 1960 and later became CD Tenerife Aficionados. CD Salud followed a year after, and after it turned into UD Salud, CD Tenerife took it over in 1980. Fifteen years later the merged operation was renamed CD Tenerife B, and the name has held since.

The Tercera División is where the reserves have done their best work. They won it in 1988–89, again in 2008–09 and once more in 2017–18. In the same year they also took the Copa Heliodoro Rodríguez López, the island cup, which they have won five times, the first two in successive seasons, 2001–02 and 2002–03.

He made his debut for Tenerife B in 2011–12 and left for Newcastle United. Leicester City, Real Betis and Villarreal came after that, and he won Euro 2024 with Spain.

Home games are played at the Ciudad Deportiva Javier Pérez, also known as Geneto. It sits in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, not in Santa Cruz, and holds 2,400 people.
