União Carmolandense

The Campeonato Tocantinense title of 2024 came thirty years after the first, in 1994 — the only two occasions União Atlético Clube has topped the state league — with a Copa Tocantins won in between, in 1995. A third arrived in 2025, or seemed to: the state federation awarded it, then annulled the result in September that year after an unregistered player was found to have featured, ordered a new play-off, and handed the trophy in December 2025 to Araguaína Futebol e Regatas, one of the club's two long-standing rivals alongside Sociedade Desportiva Sparta.

The club dates to 27 May 1992, founded in Araguaína as União Atlética Araguainense. It went inactive in 1997 and did not resume until 2008. In 2021 it moved to Carmolândia, took the name União Atlética Carmolandense and won the state's Segunda Divisão there; three years later it reverted to União Atlético Clube and restored its headquarters to Araguaína, while keeping a second base in Carmolândia — club records still list both towns.

Matches are played in blue, white and black at the Estádio Leôncio de Souza Miranda, known as Mirandão, with the Adailton Kelly ground in Carmolândia and the Gauchão in Araguaína used on other occasions. Luís Carlos Prima, fitness coach with the Brazil squad at the 1994 World Cup, took charge in 2024 of a side supporters know as the Warrior of the North. Mirandão holds 10,000.
