Haninge Municipality sits south of Stockholm, and Vendelsöpojkarnas IK and IFK Vendelsö merged on 16 March 1941. The club plays in blue and white, and for most of its history that has meant lower-division football built around the local area rather than any wider ambition.
2010 stands out as the season the club topped Division 4 Stockholm Södra and won promotion, still the honour the club points to.
Across the district line sits IFK Haninge, and matches between the two carry the weight a derby does in a place this size, where everyone involved tends to know everyone else on the other side.
The name most associated with Vendelsö IK beyond Haninge is Malin Diaz Pettersson, who came through the club before going on to represent Sweden at the 2015 World Cup.
