Wikki Tourist

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium holds 15,000 people, and it is where Wikki Tourists have built whatever standing they carry in Bauchi. Red and white run through the home kit, matching a nickname, the Giant Elephant.

Wikki Tourists took shape in 1992. Their clearest mark on the domestic record came six years later, when they lifted the Nigerian FA Cup in 1998, a trophy that still stands as the club's major honour. State-level success has been steadier: thirteen State FA Cup titles between 1998 and 2019. A Nigeria National League title in 2011 sent the club up from the second tier, and the Shehu Dukko Cup followed in 2015.

On the pitch, the name attached most firmly to a single season is Iliya Yahaya's, who holds the club record for goals scored in one campaign. Godwin Obaje came closer to the present, finishing the 2015–16 Nigeria Premier Football League season as top scorer with 18 goals in 21 appearances.

Continental football has visited Bauchi twice without going far: a Second Round exit in the 1999 CAF Cup Winners' Cup, then First Round finishes in the CAF Confederation Cup in both 2008 and 2017. Closer to home, the fixtures that draw the crowds are against Gombe United, a meeting known locally as the Northeast derby, and against Doma United.

None of it moves the club far from Bauchi itself, where the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium remains the fixed point around which the Giant Elephant's supporters gather season after season.
