Wildon

The full name is Sportverein Raiffeisen Wildon. SV Wildon began in 1948 and spent most of the decades after that in the regional leagues of Styria, out of sight of anyone who did not live nearby.

The change came in 2023–24. Wildon won the Landesliga Steiermark and went up to the Regionalliga Mitte, the first time the club had reached that level.

The higher division brought fixtures the club had not played in years. SV Allerheiligen, about 10 km away, are the nearest rival, and a league derby between the two had not been played since 2001. It returned in 2024–25, when both sides were in the same division again.

The cup gave a harder lesson. Wildon's ÖFB-Cup tie that season was against FC Blau-Weiß Linz, and it ended 0:5 in the first round. The league season went the same way. Wildon were relegated and began 2025–26 back in the Landesliga, the division they had won two years earlier.

The Stadion Wildon, also called Sportplatz Wildon, holds 1,500 people. That is enough for a derby with the neighbours, and the ground is still where the town watches its team.
