Aalborg Portland Park

Aalborg Stadion opened on 27 June 1920, but the stands that mattered burned down in 1960, and what stands today dates to the 1962 rebuild rather than the original ground. That gives the venue an odd relationship with its own history: the address and the site are more than a century old, the structure on it is not.

The naming has moved with sponsorship rather than with the club's fortunes. It ran as Energi Nord Arena from 2007 to 2011, then Nordjyske Arena until 2016, before taking the Aalborg Portland Park name in 2017 — three identities in a decade, all attached to the same bowl on Harald Jensens Vej.

The pitch is hybrid turf, a detail that separates it from the purely natural surfaces still common among grounds of comparable size in the Danish top flight. Capacity sits at 13,310, modest by the standards of the country's newer builds but consistent with a stadium that was never redeveloped for a specific tournament or bid, only patched and renamed as circumstances required.
